Special stop for the “Climate Change Days” Tour at the Elba island in the occasion of World Oceans Day

Now in its third and final edition, Wednesday, June 8, on the occasion of World Oceans Day, the Climate Change Days Tour will make a stop on Elba island (Italy), calling divers from all over Europe who will dive in the waters of the island.

DAN Europe and PADI will involve more than 30 European diving centers and about 150 instructors trained in recent years, also mobilizing recreational divers in a collaborative science action.

Divers will be required to donate 10 minutes of their diving experience to the research, to analyze the marine fauna of two transects (underwater data collection paths of 50m long and 5m wide, to be covered in 5 minutes) by counting the fish of certain species and marking the data on a waterproof board provided to the participants. The results of the underwater observations will then be uploaded to the shared map of the open source platform Observadores del Mar, specifying the dive point.
