Webinar on Citizen Science in the Marine Protected Areas

The Interreg MPA-Engage Project promotes marine protected areas as key spaces for climate change adaptation and mitigation.

On September 20th the Generalitat of Catalonia will be represented by the Secretariat for Climate Action and the Marine Protected Areas of the Cap de Creus Natural Park and the Baix Empordà coastal Natura 2000 area.

The project consists of several action modules, one of which is the promotion of citizen science as a tool of complementary support to biodiversity monitoring protocols, as an instrument for raising awareness and involving citizens in conservation, and as a new approach to activities that are already taking place in the marine environment, such as diving, snorkelling, recreational fishing and others.
